Cyprus faces another unsettled day on Thursday, with partly cloudy skies and isolated showers or thunderstorms expected mainly in the afternoon over the mountains and south-eastern areas. Hail cannot be ruled out during any thunderstorm, according to the Department of Meteorology.
Winds will blow from the south-west to north-west at moderate to strong force four to five. Seas will be slight to moderate.
Temperatures will reach 28°C inland, around 26°C on the southern and eastern coasts, around 23°C on the western and northern coasts, and 18°C in the highest mountain areas.
Thursday evening will be mainly clear, with increased low cloud over western areas and parts of the interior. Winds will ease to light south-westerly to north-westerly at force three, with seas slight to moderate.
Unsettled conditions are set to continue through Friday and Saturday, with intermittent cloud, localised rain and isolated thunderstorms forecast mainly in the afternoons over the mountains, interior and eastern areas. Isolated showers are also expected on Sunday, with thunderstorms possible. Hail cannot be ruled out.
Temperatures on Friday will remain similar to Thursday, before dipping on Saturday in inland and mountain areas with little change on the coasts, continuing below seasonal averages.
