A tornado was spotted over Nicosia on Tuesday, visible from several areas of the capital, as an intense storm raged east of the city over the occupied north.
Videos of the tornado were shared on the Facebook page Cyprus Weather Enthusiasts.
Footage posted by Kitasweather identified the cloud as a funnel produced by the storm. “It is not clear whether it touched the ground at any point, as in that case we would be talking about a tornado,” private meteorologist Erik Kitas wrote.
