Limassol man jailed 18 years for sexually abusing stepdaughter from age of 12

A 51-year-old man has been sentenced to 18 years in prison for sexually abusing his stepdaughter from the age of 12 until she reached adulthood, Limassol Criminal Court ruled.

The court imposed concurrent sentences, with the longest term set at 18 years. It also issued a supervision order requiring the defendant to be monitored by the Supervision Authority for six years following his release.

The defendant faced dozens of charges of sexual abuse and sexual exploitation of a child, as well as common assault and threats. The offences were alleged to have taken place between 2007 and 2016, and again from April 2025 until the date the victim reported the abuse to authorities.

The defendant initially denied the charges but later changed his plea and admitted to the offences.

In its ruling, the court noted the seriousness of the offences and their increasing prevalence in recent years, as well as the reprehensible nature of the defendant’s actions.

The case was first reported by philenews on April 30, 2025.
