Two new cases of foot-and-mouth disease have been found in goat and sheep farms in Athienou, raising the number of infected units to 110, the Veterinary Services told CNA on Saturday.
CNA information said the Veterinary Services have not yet made a decision on red cattle and fat-tailed sheep belonging to rare breeds. A decision is expected in the coming days.
The Veterinary Services said on Thursday that the second phase of vaccination had reached 81% coverage in cattle and 64% in the total goat and sheep population.
All pig farms within restriction zones have received at least their first vaccination, while four units in restriction zones in Larnaca district have also received a second vaccination.
