A weak low-pressure system is bringing intervals of high cloud to Cyprus today, with scattered showers and the chance of isolated thunderstorms expected to move in by Wednesday.
Dust in the atmosphere will clear shortly, the Department of Meteorology said. Winds will be south-westerly to north-westerly, light to moderate at force three to four, with occasional gusts reaching force four to five. The sea will be slight to moderate.
Temperatures today will reach 30°C inland, around 29°C on the southern and eastern coasts, 25°C on the western and northern coasts and 21°C in the higher mountains. Little change is expected on Tuesday, with readings staying close to seasonal norms.
Wednesday and Thursday will bring mainly cloudy skies, local showers, and the possibility of an isolated thunderstorm around midday and early afternoon, particularly in the mountains and the eastern half of the island. Temperatures will dip below seasonal norms on Wednesday, with little change forecast for Thursday.
