Larnaca announces protest date for delayed port and marina works

Larnaca Municipality has scheduled a press conference and a public protest following an 18 April announcement by the Committee for the Development of Larnaca City and District regarding the future of the local port and marina.

The press conference, which will address the development of the port, marina, and surrounding land, is set for Monday, 27 April at 10:00 at the municipal Multipurpose Centre for Social Welfare and Employment.

A public demonstration will follow on Wednesday, 29 April at 18:00, with protestors gathering at the Larnaca Port roundabout.

In a statement, the municipality called on all residents to participate and send a clear message that the city will not accept further delays, ambiguities, or setbacks. The municipality stressed that Larnaca can no longer wait and demanded immediate decisions, a clear design, and the start of construction. The move follows a unanimous decision by local stakeholders to take action to ensure the project moves forward.
