Iran’s enemies made a strategic blunder in assessing the country’s capabilities and its determination to defend its sovereignty, stated Yadollah Javani, the deputy head of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC). Javani added that Tehran has emerged stronger from the conflict, while the United States is facing decline and failure.
Simultaneously, Ebrahim Rezaei, the head of the Iranian Parliament’s National Security and Foreign Policy Committee, declared that his country has strict “red lines” from which it will not back down. The dual statements reinforce growing signs that a definitive agreement between the two sides is slipping out of reach.
Specifically, a senior Iranian official speaking to IRNA yesterday evening emphasized that Iran’s adversaries mistakenly believed they could secure a swift victory in a war against the Iranian nation.
According to Javani, the strategic objectives of Iran’s enemies included dismantling its nuclear capabilities, neutralizing its missile defense systems, and ultimately overthrowing the Islamic Republic. He stressed that these goals have failed, shifting regional dynamics in Tehran’s favor.
Commenting on regional developments, Javani claimed that Iran now holds a dominant position in the Strait of Hormuz, achieving a status that has become a “legitimate right of the Iranian people” after 500 years. He maintained that Iran currently occupies a “victorious and superior position” and has already presented its conditions for ending the current crisis, adding, “Now it is America’s turn to make a decision.”
Addressing U.S. President Donald Trump directly, the IRGC deputy chief argued that Washington is left with two choices: “the bad path” and “the worse path.” He asserted that the United States must choose between accepting the terms and rights of the Iranian people or continuing the war.
Javani further cautioned the adversary against making another miscalculation, stating that the Iranian Armed Forces remain fully prepared. Should another error occur, the Islamic Republic’s response will be “stronger, more decisive, and more unbelievable” than before.
Rezaei: No retreat from red lines
Ebrahim Rezaei, the head of the National Security and Foreign Policy Committee of the Iranian Parliament, reiterated that while Iran prefers diplomacy, it has non-negotiable red lines.
Rezaei argued that the United States must make concessions to secure an agreement between the two sides, claiming that Washington is currently bargaining from a weak position.
He concluded by stressing that the naval blockade against Iran will be brought to an end, warning that this outcome will be achieved either through diplomatic negotiations or direct military action.
