Accept LGBT Cyprus is hosting the annual Cyprus Pride 2026 march on Saturday afternoon at the Nicosia Municipal Gardens under the slogan “Get out. On your own proud path.” The festival’s programming commenced at 2:00 pm, with the pride march scheduled to take place at 6:00 pm.
The central message of the event is opposition to the expulsion and stigma experienced by LGBT individuals, drawing inspiration from the real-world phrases members face. The organisation has called on the public to take to the streets to march for equality, freedom, and visibility. This year’s festival features established artists and performers, including Evridiki, Giannis Margaris, Zali, Aphroditios, Andromeda Balls, Zivana Olel, and PHNX_87.
According to an announcement by Accept LGBT Cyprus, at a time when expressions such as “natural order,” “traditional values,” and “protection of children” are increasingly deployed as tools of fear, exclusion, and misinformation, Cyprus Pride responds by claiming public space. The group described taking to the streets as an essential act of existence, dignity, and freedom rather than just a protest, stating that public spaces must be shared areas for visibility, connection, and collective advancement.
The organisation noted that the creative concept of this year’s campaign reclaims familiar everyday expressions and reinterprets them through the perspective of the LGBT+ community. The phrase “get out” is transformed from an exclusionary rejection into a positive call for freedom, visibility, and presence.
Organisers emphasised that Cyprus Pride 2026 concerns anyone who believes human rights are non-negotiable, cannot be postponed, and should not be deferred for later. In a country that regularly cites European values, equality cannot remain open to negotiation, the announcement stated.
The collective manifesto highlights the importance of solidarity among communities, movements, and individuals experiencing exclusion, discrimination, or invisibility. The group extended its message beyond the LGBT community and feminist movements to include migrants, individuals with disabilities, workers, farmers, and youth, stating that public space belongs to everyone and that restrictions placed on one group eventually affect all groups.
Concurrently, Cyprus Pride 2026 continues to campaign for substantive legislative progress on critical equality and human rights protection issues. These demands include equal marriage, adoption rights, legal gender recognition, equal healthcare access, accessibility improvements, and effective protections against hate speech and hate crimes.
The campaign stated that the event does not simply celebrate diversity but actively claims physical, legal, and symbolic public space, asserting the right of every individual to exist without seeking permission from those who judge or exclude them. Innovation Leo Burnett managed the creative direction and implementation of this year’s campaign in support of the organisation’s vision. Accept LGBT Cyprus expressed gratitude to all contributors, creators, and professionals who volunteered their time, talent, and support for the project.
