Orange warning for extreme heat in effect from noon today

Seasonal low pressure is affecting the area, and the weather today will be particularly hot. From 12:00, an orange warning for extremely high temperatures will come into effect, lasting until 17:00.

According to the Department of Meteorology’s forecast, today, after local fog and low cloud clear, the weather will become mostly clear.

Winds will blow mainly south-westerly to north-westerly, light to moderate, 3 to 4 Beaufort, locally reaching strong, 4 to 5 Beaufort, in the afternoon. The sea will be slight to moderate.

Temperatures will rise to 43 degrees inland, 33 on the western coast, around 36 on the rest of the coast, and 32 degrees in the higher mountain areas.

On Thursday, the weather will be mostly clear. On Friday and Saturday, the weather will remain mostly clear, though locally increased cloud will appear at times.

Temperatures on Thursday are not expected to show any notable change, while on Friday and Saturday they will gradually and noticeably drop, settling close to average climatic values.
