A Paphos Criminal Court sentenced a 35-year-old man to 15 years in prison on Tuesday for the attempted murder of two women at a pharmacy in Chlorakas, Paphos, in April 2025.
The man is accused of storming into the pharmacy on April 14 and attacking the 33-year-old owner and her 24-year-old employee with a knife. According to police, the motive behind the attack was a personal dispute between the suspect and the pharmacist. Both women sustained stab wounds and were taken to Paphos General Hospital. The 33-year-old was admitted for treatment, while the 24-year-old was discharged the same day.
After the attack, the suspect handed himself in to police and was subsequently admitted to Athalassa psychiatric hospital in Nicosia. After being discharged, he was re-arrested.
