Cyprus police arrest 29 in immigration operation

Police arrested 29 third-country nationals living illegally in Cyprus during a nationwide operation carried out today by members of the Aliens and Immigration Service.

Police said 3,115 foreigners living illegally in Cyprus have been repatriated since January 1, 2026, through voluntary and forced return procedures.

Illegal arrivals of third-country nationals have fallen to 576, compared with 730 in the corresponding period last year.

Police said they continue to focus their efforts on maximising the number of repatriations of third-country nationals living illegally in the Republic of Cyprus, in coordination with other competent services.
