Limassol police arrested a 29-year-old local resident on Saturday night in connection with a car arson attack carried out earlier this week.
The arrest followed a judicial warrant linked to an incident in the early hours of 22 April 2026. At approximately 2:00 a.m. that morning, a fire broke out in a car belonging to an 81-year-old woman while it was parked outside a relative’s house.
The Fire Service extinguished the blaze, which caused damage to the vehicle. Officials said the exact value of the damage has yet to be determined.
During the course of the investigation, evidence emerged linking the 29-year-old to the crime, leading to his detention.
