A 20-year-old resident of the Famagusta district was robbed and injured at knife point in Ayia Napa on Saturday night.
The victim reported to police that the attack occurred at approximately 10:20 p.m. while he was walking on Martas Street. An unknown assailant reportedly ambushed the man, throwing him to the ground before threatening him with a knife to steal cash and his mobile phone.
The young man reportedly resisted the attacker, resulting in a knife wound to his hand. He was transported to Famagusta General Hospital, where he received first aid and was later discharged.
Famagusta CID is continuing its investigation into the incident.
