Woman cut free from wreckage after Limassol car crash

A woman was rescued from her vehicle in the early hours of Sunday following a traffic accident in the community of Moniatis, Limassol district.

Fire Service spokesperson Andreas Kettis said the call for assistance was received at 00:55. A private vehicle veered off course and struck a small roadside culvert wall before coming to a halt on its side.

Rescue teams used specialised hydraulic equipment to cut the woman free from the wreckage. She was handed over to an ambulance crew and transported to the Accident and Emergency Department of Limassol General Hospital.

Two fire engines, including a dedicated rescue vehicle and its crew, responded to the scene. The police have taken over investigations into the cause of the collision.
