Sunny spells to give way to afternoon mountain storms

Tuesday will start with patchy fog and low cloud before clearing to mostly sunny skies across Cyprus, with isolated showers and possible thunderstorms developing later in the day, mainly over the mountains and inland areas.

Winds will blow south-westerly to north-westerly at force three to four, strengthening locally to force four to five during the day. Seas will be calm to slightly rough at first, turning locally slightly rough later.

Temperatures will reach around 29 degrees Celsius inland, around 24 on the southern, eastern and northern coasts, around 23 on the western coast and around 18 in the higher mountain areas.

Cloud will build at intervals on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, with isolated showers or thunderstorms again expected around midday and into the afternoon, mainly over the mountains and inland areas. Temperatures through Friday are not expected to change significantly, remaining close to seasonal averages.
