Showers and strong winds forecast for Friday before weekend sunshine

Friday’s weather will be partly cloudy at intervals, with isolated showers possible in the afternoon, mainly over the mountains and southeastern areas.

Winds will be south-westerly to north-westerly, moderate to strong at force four to five, and periodically very strong at force six in the south. Seas will be slight to moderate, and periodically rough on windward coasts.

Temperatures will reach around 27°C inland and along the southern and eastern coasts, around 23°C on the remaining coasts, and 17°C in the higher mountains.

Saturday will see passing cloud and the chance of isolated showers, mainly in the mountains. Temperatures will rise on Saturday and remain at similar levels on Sunday and Monday, close to seasonal averages. Sunday and Monday will be mainly clear, with dust in the atmosphere.
