Russia to proceed Ukraine operation till targets achieved, says minister

Russia will proceed its army operation in Ukraine till it achieves its targets, Russian Defence Minister Sergei Shoigu mentioned, the Interfax information company reported on Tuesday (March 1).

Shoigu mentioned Moscow’s most important purpose was defending itself from threats created by the West and mentioned Russia was not occupying Ukraine’s territory.

Russian Defence ministry launched a video on Tuesday displaying servicemembers with blurred face aboard army helicopters. Within the accompanying assertion, the ministry mentioned it was military air power participating within the particular army operation with out specifying the place or when the footage was filmed.

Russia calls its actions in Ukraine a “particular operation” to destroy its neighbour’s army capabilities and seize what it regards as harmful nationalists. It denies focusing on civilians.

Russia’s invasion, launched final week, has failed to attain the decisive early features that Putin would have hoped for. Ceasefire talks held Monday failed to succeed in a breakthrough.
