Authorities are investigating a serious complaint after a newborn was injured at Larnaca General Hospital, with the infant’s mother alleging the baby was placed in hot water during bathing shortly after birth.
According to the complaint, the newborn sustained burns to its lower limbs as a result. The infant’s condition was assessed as serious, requiring transfer to Makarios Hospital, where it is receiving treatment.
The State Health Services Organisation (SHSO) spokesman Charalambos Charilaou confirmed to philenews that the incident is under investigation.
