The local CID is investigating a bomb explosion at an elderly couple’s home in the city, which caused damage and sparked concern in the residential area.
Police received reports of a powerful explosion at the house of a 74 and 75 year old couple at around ten thirty last night, rushed to the scene and cordoned off the area, conducting preliminary checks and gathering evidence, sent for forensic testing.
The explosion occurred in the yard, breaking the home’s windows. There were no injuries.
Following further examinations, it was established that the cause of the explosion was a defensive military grenade.
The Paphos CID is not ruling out any possibility as it investigates the incident.
