Three men have been injured during a migration raid at the FILANTA apartment complex in Larnaca, with a third casualty discovered shortly after the initial incident.
The first man was rushed to Larnaca General Hospital after jumping from a second-floor balcony in an attempt to avoid arrest, according to initial reports. His condition is not yet known. A second man subsequently jumped from the same balcony, with authorities working to rescue him.
A third casualty was discovered in the building’s open courtyard and was removed using a specialist fire service platform before being taken to hospital.
According to Philenews, the Civil Registry and Migration Department operation covers areas across the whole of Larnaca, targeting undocumented migrants. The FILANTA complex — a block of five buildings — has previously come to the attention of the Larnaca District Local Government Organisation (DLGO) due to concerns about the condition of the buildings.
A large police presence remains at the scene.

The incident follows a similar case in Limassol in April 2024, when two men jumped from a fifth-floor window during a migration raid. One of them, 19-year-old Bangladeshi national Anisur Rahman, died from the fall.
An investigation by the Independent Authority for the Investigation of Allegations and Complaints against the Police found no wrongdoing by officers, though the police account of the raid was disputed by an eyewitness living in the apartment.
