Cyprus weather: Sun followed by afternoon showers and storms

The weather will start mostly clear today after early patchy low cloud and local thin fog or mist dissolves. However, clouds developing after midday are expected to bring local showers and isolated thunderstorms, mainly in the mountains and parts of the interior.

Winds will start light from the northeast to southeast at 3 Beaufort, later becoming southwest to northwest, light to moderate at 3 to 4 Beaufort. The sea will be calm to slight.

Temperatures will rise to around 31 degrees Celsius inland, roughly 28 degrees on the eastern coast, around 25 degrees on the southern and northern coasts, 24 degrees on the western coast, and around 21 degrees in the higher mountains.

Tonight will remain mostly clear, though localized patchy low cloud will appear at times. Thin fog or mist will form locally later during the early morning hours.

Winds tonight will blow from the northwest to northeast and locally southeast, remaining light at 3 Beaufort. The sea will stay calm to slight. Temperatures will drop to around 16 degrees Celsius inland, roughly 17 degrees on the coast, and around 12 degrees in the higher mountains.
