Temperatures will climb to around 37 degrees inland on Friday, the Department of Meteorology said, as low cloud and patchy mist clear to leave mostly clear skies, though local, temporary increases in cloud are expected.
Winds will blow southwest to northwest, locally variable and light to moderate at force 3 to 4 in the morning, before strengthening later to moderate, force 4, and locally strong, force 5, according to the department.
The sea will be smooth to slight.
Coastal areas will see lower temperatures than inland, with highs of around 32 degrees on the southern and eastern coasts, around 34 degrees on the northern coast, and around 30 degrees on the western coast and in the higher mountains, the department said.
Skies will remain mostly clear on Friday night, though the department said increased low cloud will appear intermittently in local areas, mainly on the western coast. Later, during the early morning hours, increased low cloud and patchy mist or fog may form locally, particularly inland and in eastern and southeastern areas. Winds will blow southwest to northwest, light to moderate at force 3 to 4, gradually easing to mainly variable, light, force 3.
Saturday is forecast to be mostly clear, with local increases in cloud over the mountains in the afternoon, the department said.
Cloud is expected to build progressively on Sunday and Monday, with isolated rain and an isolated storm forecast for the mountains and inland areas after midday.
Temperatures will rise slightly on Saturday, running a little above seasonal averages, before falling gradually by Monday to close to or slightly below the usual levels for the time of year, according to the department.
