The Cyprus Stock Exchange informs the public about the initiation of the consultation process for the proposed legislation on the privatization of the CSE by the Ministry of Finance.
The draft law is titled “The Law on the Privatization of the Cyprus Stock Exchange, Central Depository, and Central Registry of Securities, and the Transfer of Personnel and Positions of the Cyprus Stock Exchange to the Ministry of Finance Law of 2023.”
This legislation was prepared following a relevant decision by the Council of Ministers as part of the CSE privatization project.
The draft law focuses on the privatization of the CSE through a specific competitive selection process for a strategic investor.
Interested stakeholders have until January 15, 2024, to submit comments/views on the draft law. The draft law and other relevant consultation information are available on the Ministry of Finance website.
