The Health Ministry on Friday said 16 Covid-related deaths were recorded in Cyprus this past week while new infections totaled 2,154 and the positivity rate stood at 3.54%.
The new deaths were among people aged between 65 and 99 with most of them being in their late eighties. The total number of Covid deaths has now risen to 1,168.
At the same time, 57 coronavirus patients are currently being treated at state hospitals, nine in serious condition and five still intubated.
Moreover, two patients have ceased being infectious but continue to be intubated in Intensive Care Unit.
Specifically, the 16 new deaths concern the following:
- Woman, aged 82, who passed away on 02/04/2022
- Woman, aged 81, who passed away on 01/06/2022
- Woman, aged 90, who passed away on 07/06/2022
- Male, aged 86, who passed away on 13/08/2022
- Male, aged 94, who passed away on 14/08/2022
- Male, aged 87, who passed away on 15/08/2022
- Male, aged 96, who passed away on 15/08/2022
- Woman, aged 65, who passed away on 18/08/2022
- Male, aged 83, who passed away on 19/08/2022
- Male, aged 81, who passed away on 19/08/2022
- Woman, aged 90, who passed away on 19/08/2022
- Male, aged 78, who passed away on 21/08/2022
- Woman, aged 81, who passed away on 22/08/2022
- Male, aged 99, who passed away on 22/08/2022
- Woman, aged 87, who passed away on 22/08/2022
- Male, aged 92, who passed away on 23/08/2022
