A man was killed and a woman badly wounded by an anti-tank missile that hit in northern Israel near the border with Lebanon on Sunday, Israel’s ambulance service said.
Israel’s military said that a missile hit a house, causing casualties and that its forces were striking Hezbollah targets in Lebanon.
Israel and Hezbollah have been trading fire since the group’s Palestinian ally Hamas attacked Israel from Gaza on Oct. 7, igniting a conflict that has rippled around the region, marking their most serious confrontation since a 2006 war.
Earlier on Sunday, Israel said its forces killed four militants infiltrating from Lebanon. An Israeli military official said they were armed with rifles, anti-tank missiles, grenades and RPGs and that their affiliation was yet unknown.
