Annual increase in petroleum product sales by 3.7% in November

Annual change in petroleum product sales by 3.7% was reported in November, with the good weather contributing to a partial decline in heating oil sales.

In November 2023, total petroleum product sales reached 119,253 tons, marking a 3.7% increase compared to November 2022.

Increases were noted in aviation fuel supplies (25.8%) as well as sales of heavy fuel oil (28.4%), diesel (6.6%), and gasoline (6.0%). Conversely, decreases were recorded in the sales of light fuel oil (-17.4%), asphalt (-5.2%), heating oil (-3.7%), kerosene (-2.9%), and liquefied petroleum gas (-1.5%).

Specifically, sales from petroleum product stations saw a 4.5% increase, reaching 56,282 tons.

Total petroleum product sales in November 2023, compared to October 2023, experienced a decline of 8.7%.

Notably, there was a decrease in aviation fuel supplies (-40.5%) and gasoline sales (-2.3%), while sales of diesel (2.7%), heating oil (55.1%), and kerosene (88.6%) saw an increase. Total petroleum product stocks at the end of November 2023 increased by 2.0% compared to the end of the previous month.

During the period from January to November 2023, total petroleum product sales recorded a marginal increase (0.3%) compared to the same period in the previous year.

This data pertains to petroleum product sales from petroleum product stations, sales to government departments, British Bases, and the United Nations, as well as sales to ships and other customers, including stocks at the end of each month.

Only petroleum product companies are covered, and the information also includes direct imports of petroleum products from the Electricity Authority of Cyprus (EAC) and the processing industry.
