Today will see isolated thunderstorms and potential hail hit parts of Cyprus this afternoon following a mostly clear start to the day.
Early low cloud and thin mist will quickly clear this morning, but cloud cover is expected to build up after noon. The changing conditions will bring showers and storms to the mountains, inland areas, and the southeast.
Winds will start light and variable at 3 Beaufort, later turning southwest to northwest at 3 to 4 Beaufort. The southern coast will experience temporary strong winds reaching 5 Beaufort, leaving the sea slightly choppy.
Temperatures will rise to 34°C inland, around 30°C on the south, east, and north coasts, 28°C on the west coast, and 25°C in the higher mountains.
Skies will clear again overnight, though low cloud and patchy fog will develop along the coasts toward dawn. Winds will drop to a light 3 Beaufort, shifting northwest to northeast, and southeast on the north coast, while the sea becomes calm to slightly choppy.
Overnight temperatures will drop to 17°C inland, around 19°C on the coast, and 15°C in the higher mountains.
