Accountant’s car set ablaze in Limassol

52-year-old accountant’s car in Limassol became the target of bombers in the early hours. The perpetrator is alleged to have detonated an improvised bomb twice, as the first attempt did not succeed.

According to the police, the explosion occurred five minutes past three in the morning. The car was parked outside the owner’s house in an area of Mesa Geitonia.

The perpetrator placed a factory-made explosive device with low potency in the car’s windscreen and detonated it. The extent of the damage caused by the explosion has not been determined yet.

The actions of the perpetrator were recorded by the home’s closed-circuit surveillance system. It was observed that the perpetrator was riding a motorcycle and allegedly attempted to detonate the same car at 1:20 am, without success, returning approximately two hours later.
