Police found 13 nine-millimetre cartridges in the bag of a 43-year-old man as he tried to enter Limassol District Court, during a security check at the courthouse’s metal-detector arch.
According to police, a number of suspicious objects resembling bullets were found in a bag in his possession during the check.
Further examination established that they were 13 cartridges of nine millimetres, for which he gave certain claims that are now being investigated. Police noted that nine-millimetre bullets can be used in a pistol or an automatic weapon.
A search followed of both the motorcycle he had used to travel to the court and his home, but nothing incriminating was found.
The 43-year-old was taken to CID Limassol offices, where he was rearrested under a court warrant and placed in custody. CID Limassol’s investigation continues.
