Two-year-old dies after fall from Paphos hotel balcony

A two-year-old boy died on Sunday after falling from a fourth-floor balcony at a hotel in the Paphos tourist area, police said.

The child was on holiday in Cyprus with his parents, who were staying at a hotel in the coastal area between Kato Paphos and Chloraka.

Initial police inquiries indicate that the boy slipped away from the attention of his family and fell from the balcony of their room at about 6.30 pm.

An ambulance was called from Paphos General Hospital, but paramedics who arrived at the scene were unable to revive him.

The child was taken to Paphos General Hospital, where doctors pronounced him dead.

Officers from Paphos CID attended the scene and launched an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident.

Police are taking statements from the child’s parents and other people who were at the hotel at the time.
