Sirens to sound across Cyprus on 15 and 20 July

Sirens will sound in all cities on 15 and 20 July 2026 as part of commemorations marking the anniversaries of the 1974 coup and the Turkish invasion.

According to an announcement by the Civil Defence Force, the sirens will sound at 8:20 am on 15 July, the time the coup began in 1974.

They will sound again at 5:30 am on 20 July, the time the Turkish invasion of Cyprus began.

In both cases, the signal marking the start of an alert will be broadcast.
