A gang of young people appears to be behind around the last five robberies targeting food delivery drivers in Limassol. The group’s activity appears to have been captured on CCTV cameras, footage from which has been collected by police and is being assessed.
According to philenews information, the perpetrators are striking in specific areas, with authorities carrying out checks and other action to identify and arrest them.
Regarding the robbery of a 21-year-old food delivery driver, which took place in the early hours of this morning in the Petrou and Pavlou area, CID Limassol investigators went to the scene and carried out on-site examinations and the collection of evidence.
The 21-year-old returned to the scene of the robbery, where he showed investigators the locations where events unfolded, while also providing information on the perpetrators’ movements.

At the same time, CID Limassol officers collected footage from CCTV cameras installed in the wider area, aiming to map the perpetrators’ escape route, trace their movements before and after the robbery, and establish whether they had previously been watching the victim.
The robbery took place at around 1am, as the 21-year-old was driving his car in Limassol. He was approached by three unknown individuals riding scooter-type mopeds. The three assailants blocked his path, opened the driver’s door, pulled him out of the vehicle and beat him. They then took €1,800 in cash from the car’s drawer and fled in an unknown direction.
The 21-year-old was taken by ambulance to Limassol General Hospital, where he was found to have facial injuries. He was discharged after receiving first aid.
