Seasonal low pressure and atmospheric instability are affecting the region, bringing a mix of clear skies and isolated afternoon storms across parts of Cyprus.
Early patches of thin fog and low clouds will quickly clear today, leaving the morning mostly fine. However, cloud cover will build up during the midday and afternoon hours, expected to trigger isolated showers and isolated thunderstorms over inland areas and the mountains.
Winds will start as variable and light at 3 Beaufort, gradually turning southwest to northwest and increasing to light to moderate at 3 to 4 Beaufort. The sea will remain smooth to slight. Temperatures will climb to 37°C inland, hover around 32°C on the southern and eastern coasts, reach about 30°C on the remaining coasts, and rise to 26°C in the higher mountains.
Tonight the weather will stay mostly clear, though thin local fog and low cloud cover are forecast to develop during the early morning hours.
Winds will gradually drop, becoming variable and light at up to 3 Beaufort. The sea will remain smooth to slight. Overnight temperatures will drop to around 22°C inland, 23°C along the coast, and 17°C in the higher mountain peaks.
