Arson investigation under way after fire at Limassol massage parlour

Limassol CID is investigating a suspected arson attack on a massage parlour in Germasogeia, with investigators focused on identifying those responsible and establishing a motive for the attack.

The fire broke out shortly after 4am at a ground-floor premises in an apartment block. Police and the Fire Service responded immediately, brought the fire under control and sealed off the scene for forensic examination.

Two people were inside the premises when the fire broke out and managed to get out without injury.

Preliminary examinations found that the fire caused limited damage to the glass frontage and interior of the premises, but the circumstances in which it broke out have led authorities to investigate it as a case of arson.

According to information obtained by Philenews, the premises belongs to a British national, who told investigators in his statement that he does not suspect anyone in particular and has no disputes with anyone.

A number of exhibits were collected from the scene for forensic examination, while investigators are seeking CCTV footage from the area in an effort to trace the movements of those responsible before and after the attack.

Limassol CID’s investigation is continuing at pace, with the aim of identifying and arresting those involved and establishing the motive behind the arson attack.
