Police are investigating the circumstances under which a 53-year-old Norwegian tourist was seriously injured in Ayia Napa and remains in critical condition in hospital.
According to police, the man is being treated at the Nicosia General Hospital while he is intubated and in a critical condition. Authorities are examining whether the incident was an accident or if there are other causes behind the injury.
Based on the evidence under examination, police were informed shortly before 7am today by Famagusta General Hospital that an injured person had been admitted earlier.
The 53-year-old was found injured on Eleftherias Street in Ayia Napa and was transported by ambulance to Famagusta General Hospital.
Medical examinations showed that he suffered a skull fracture and a brain haemorrhage.
Due to the severity of his condition, he was transferred to Nicosia General Hospital, where he remains in critical condition.
The Famagusta Criminal Investigation Department (CID) continues to examine the case.
