Three men have been remanded in custody in connection with a drug-related investigation involving dried poppy bulbs found in postal parcels in the Famagusta district.
Police said a 22-year-old man was arrested on Monday by the Cyprus Drug Law Enforcement Unit (YKAN) in relation to the case.
The seized quantity, weighing 6.05 kilograms, was discovered in postal packages and confiscated during the investigation in the Famagusta area.
Two other men, aged 35 and 30, were arrested on June 25, 2026, in connection with the same case.
All three suspects appeared before the Famagusta District Court, which issued seven-day detention orders to facilitate police investigations.
The Famagusta branch of YKAN is continuing its inquiries into the case.
