Police trace mobile signal in search for Bangladeshi student allegedly kidnapped in Larnaca

Police are tracing the mobile phone signal of a 22-year-old Bangladeshi student allegedly kidnapped in Larnaca, as investigators seek CCTV footage to track his movements, according to Philenews information.

The 22-year-old left his home in Oroklini at around 6:30 pm on Thursday to start his first day of work at a factory in the Kofinou area. Before leaving, he sent his location to friends. He has not been seen since.

Investigators are searching closed-circuit television footage to establish the route he took after leaving his home.

Later that evening, his father, who lives in Greece, received a phone call and messages from an unknown person demanding a sum of money in exchange for his son’s release.

A housemate filed a report with police shortly before 1:00 am on Friday, June 12. The CID Larnaca is investigating.
