Cyprus weather forecast Wednesday: sunny with afternoon mountain storms through the weekend

Wednesday will be mainly sunny, though early morning patches of low cloud and mist or fog are expected to clear quickly. Isolated showers or thunderstorms are likely to develop in the mountains and inland areas during the early afternoon.

Winds will be variable and light at up to three Beaufort, gradually turning seaward and light to locally moderate at three to four Beaufort. The sea will be slight to moderate.

Temperatures will reach around 35 degrees Celsius inland, around 29 on most coasts, around 27 on the western coast, and around 25 in the higher mountain areas.

Wednesday evening will be mainly clear, with low cloud and patchy mist or fog expected to form locally overnight. Winds will turn variable and light at up to three Beaufort. The sea will be smooth to slight.

On Thursday, Friday and Saturday, conditions will follow a similar pattern: mainly sunny in the morning with isolated showers or thunderstorms developing in the mountains and inland during the afternoon. On Saturday, showers may also affect the eastern coast. Low cloud and patchy mist or fog are expected locally overnight and in the early morning hours.

Temperatures will remain broadly stable, near seasonal averages.
