Sunshine and warmth across Cyprus, but afternoon storms possible inland

Cyprus is under a weak low-pressure system on Monday, bringing mostly clear skies but with some early low cloud and patchy fog in inland and coastal areas.

Afternoon cloud development in the mountains may produce isolated showers or thunderstorms, with hail possible if storms develop.

Winds will blow mainly south-westerly to north-westerly, light to moderate at three to four Beaufort, with seas slight to moderate.

Temperatures will reach 35°C inland, 30°C on most coasts, 28°C along the western coast, and 26°C in the higher mountains.

Similar conditions are expected on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, with afternoon cloud build-up likely to bring isolated rain or thunderstorms in the mountains and possibly inland areas.

Temperatures will see no significant change, remaining slightly above seasonal averages.
