A 39-year-old woman was found dead inside her apartment in Kalamata during the early hours of Monday morning, leading police to arrest her 41-year-old husband on suspicion of intentional homicide.
According to Tharrosnews, neighbours heard shouting coming from the apartment at around 02:00 and alerted the police. When officers arrived at the scene, the woman’s 41-year-old husband opened the door covered in blood.
The 39-year-old woman was found dead in the bedroom of the home with multiple wounds. According to the same information, a knife was found next to her, which she was reportedly holding in her hand.
A forensic pathologist went to the apartment to examine the body and help investigate the circumstances surrounding the death.
The 41-year-old man was arrested and faces charges of intentional homicide, while the couple’s two underage children were taken to the Pediatric Clinic of Kalamata Hospital as a precaution. The Kalamata Police Department has taken over the preliminary investigation and inquiry into the case.
