Heavy rain hits Nicosia and mountain areas despite being seasonally unusual (videos)

Heavy rain is falling across mountain areas and parts of Nicosia, particularly the Engomi neighbourhood, on Monday afternoon.

Videos circulating on social media show streets in Engomi filling with water as a result of the downpour.

According to the weather website kitasweather, increased cloud cover over the mountains continues to produce localised rainfall, with rain also affecting inland areas and Nicosia.

The Department of Meteorology forecasts that rain and possible thunderstorms are expected on Tuesday afternoon as well, mainly in mountain areas and inland regions.
