Cyprus has risen six places to rank 34th globally in the StartupBlink Global Startup Ecosystem Index 2026, making it the highest-climbing country in the world for the third consecutive year.
The ecosystem recorded 62.7% annual growth and carries a value of USD 4.2 billion, according to the report released on Tuesday.
All four of Cyprus’s ranked cities feature in the global Top 1,000, with Limassol becoming the first Cypriot city to break into the Top 200, placing 191st.
Cyprus ranks 26th globally in Social & Leisure — its strongest startup category — which covers gaming, social platforms, entertainment, fitness, wellness, dating, travel and cultural experiences, recreation and marketplaces. Within that category, Cyprus ranks 16th globally in Gaming.
