Police are warning the public about a scam involving handwritten notes left on car windscreens, urging drivers to download an app purportedly offering information about criminal activity in their area.
Police said reports from members of the public had been received in recent days. The notes are placed by fraudsters with the aim of stealing money or personal data, police said.
The public is urged to be particularly cautious and alert, and to contact the nearest police station or the Citizens’ Communication Line on 1460 if they encounter such an incident.
