Police have announced a week-long awareness and enforcement campaign with intensified traffic checks focused on speed limits, aimed at preventing serious and fatal road crashes.
The intensified checks begin on Monday, April 13, 2026, and will run until Sunday, April 19, 2026.
Police said the campaign will also take place at the pan-European level as part of the Cyprus police cooperation with the European Traffic Police Network ROADPOL.
Excessive speed is one of the main causes of serious and fatal road crashes, police said.
