A 20-year-old driver was arrested after allegedly driving into the opposite lane and crashing head-on with another car on Protaras-Cape Greco avenue in the early hours of Monday, police said.
The crash happened at around 2.30 am, when the 20-year-old was driving along the avenue and entered the wrong side of the road, colliding head-on with a car driven by a 26-year-old woman.
Both vehicles sustained minor damage and neither driver was injured.
In a final alcohol test, the 20-year-old tested positive with a reading of 104μg%, compared with the legal limit of 9μg%, police said.
She was arrested for an offence committed in the act and was later released to be summoned to court at a later date.
Paralimni police station is continuing the investigation.
