Iran vows intensified attacks on Israeli and US targets in the region after Trump’s threats

Iran’s top joint military command said on Tuesday it will continue attacks on Israeli and American military, security and economic infrastructure across the region with greater intensity, according to Reuters.

The announcement came on the same day that Iranians formed human chains around power plants and key infrastructure across the country following President Donald Trump’s threats to strike Iran’s energy sector.

Official claims put the number of registrations at more than 14 million, though the figure could not be immediately verified. Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, regarded by some as Iran’s de-facto leader following the killing of Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei at the start of the conflict, and President Masoud Pezeshkian both said they were prepared to sacrifice their lives to defend Iran.

Earlier on Tuesday, US President Donald Trump threatened to destroy Iran. “A whole civilization will die tonight, never to be brought back again. I don’t want that to happen, but it probably will,” Trump wrote on Truth Social, adding that the arrival of what he described as “Complete and Total Regime Change” in Tehran meant something “revolutionarily wonderful” could yet happen before midnight.

The war between Iran and the United States and Israel has now entered its sixth week.
