The Council of Ministers has approved a €250 Easter grant for low-income pensioners, waiving a savings deposit condition that had applied in previous years.
The bonus, proposed by the Deputy Ministry of Social Welfare, is open to households earning up to €7,000 annually for single-person households and €12,000 for two-person households, with thresholds adjusted for larger households.
The income criteria are unchanged from 2024 and 2025.
Unlike in previous years, the €30,000 savings deposit threshold will not be applied for the 2026 payment. Around 10,050 people are expected to qualify, at a total cost of €2,512,500.
