Marella Discovery II arrives in Limassol to launch Cyprus cruise season

The arrival of Marella Discovery II at the Port of Limassol today marks the start of the 2026 Cyprus cruise season.

DP World Limassol’s cruise terminal serves as the ship’s home port for the second consecutive year under a full Fly and Cruise package, according to a press release by DP World Limassol.

Operated by Marella Cruises, a UK-based subsidiary of TUI Group, Marella Discovery II has 11 passenger decks and 918 cabins, with onboard facilities including an outdoor cinema, a rock-climbing wall and a mini golf course. The ship will make 26 port calls at Limassol between April and October, operating an 8-day itinerary that includes stops at Kusadasi, Mykonos, Piraeus, Souda in Crete and Rhodes before returning to Limassol, the press release says.

The Fly and Cruise model combines flight and cruise bookings into a single package, with passengers arriving at Larnaca and Paphos airports before transferring to the Limassol cruise terminal. Cyprus serves as the primary embarkation and disembarkation point for all passengers.

“The cruise sector remains a vital pillar of Cyprus’ tourism offering, and we are delighted to once again welcome Marella Discovery II to DP World Limassol as its home port for 2026,” said Simon Pitout, CEO of DP World Limassol. “Limassol is firmly establishing itself as a strategic hub in the Eastern Mediterranean, and we will continue to enhance our capabilities to drive innovation and support our customers’ expectations and ambitions. It is business as usual in Limassol.”
