Students across Cyprus marked the anniversary of the start of the Greek Revolution of 1821 against the Ottoman Empire at the large parade in Nicosia in front of the Greek embassy.
Boys and girls from secondary schools, lyceums and technical schools, along with university and college students, scout groups, war veterans, sports clubs and trade union organisations, took part in the event to mark the national anniversary and the sacrifice made for freedom.
