Cloudy skies with showers, storms and possible hail across Cyprus today

Today’s weather will be mainly cloudy, with local showers or even a thunderstorm expected early on, mainly in coastal areas.

Cloud cover will increase gradually, especially from midday onwards, bringing local showers and isolated thunderstorms, particularly in mountainous areas, inland, and in the north and east.

Hail is expected during thunderstorms, while snow or sleet may fall on the highest peaks of Troodos.

Winds will initially be variable and light at 3 Beaufort, gradually turning into sea breezes at 3 to 4 Beaufort. The sea will be generally calm to slight.

Temperatures will rise to around 18°C inland and along the coast, and to around 6°C in the higher mountains.

Tonight, conditions will be partly cloudy, with isolated showers expected mainly in coastal areas.

Winds will be mainly north-westerly to north-easterly, and south-easterly on the northern coasts, light at 3 Beaufort and at times moderate, 3 to 4 Beaufort.

Later, during the early morning hours, patchy fog may form in inland and eastern areas.

The sea will be calm to slight and at times slightly rough in the west.
